Warning: Long post (who can package this much adventure into one tiny post?)

Waking up in Scotland has got to be one of the most fortunate moments of my life. Waking up surrounded by castles out every window is a dream for anyone ever wanting to be a Disney Princess (me).

With one full day left in Scotland, we decided we would make the most of it. The problem? Edinburgh isn't very big and we had done most of the main attractions in the city, so we decided to grab some breakfast at the local diner and head to the outskirts of town.

We decided to walk up to Scott Monument which was known for having the best view in Scotland in Holyrood Park. Any yes, it sounds like Hollywood with Scottish accent.

There are 287 steps to the top of this tower. As we climbed you could feel the excitement. Nate was way ahead of me, but I did stop to take pictures out of every window so that may have been the problem. He waited for me ever so patiently at the top and it was GORGEOUS! They were not kidding when they said it was the best view in Scotland. To the east you could see the Kingdom of Fife with a large burning flame. To the north you could see the boats out on the north sea and the winds come in off of the fiords of Norway and Sweden. To the south you could see Castle Rock and the Royal Mile. It was breathtaking and pictures could not do it justice (but I sure as heck tried).

As you looked to the west you could see people hiking up this mountain range area. With a whole day left and nothing to do, we decided to hike up to! It's past noon by now; Nate and I are running on little sleep but ton's of excitement, so we head up the mountain called "Arthur's Seat". Arthur's seat means "Height of Arrows" in Scottish or otherwise known as "Archer's Seat".

I could go on and on about the hike, and what we saw along the way, or I could just post pictures so I think I will go with the latter.

By the time we were to the top, both our stomaches were growling like mad wolves. It was 15:00 and we were starving... on top of a mountain. We headed back down, both not talking at all due to millennial hangriness. We reached the bottom by 4:00 and decided to grab some healthy lunches and smoothies (Scottish style of course).

Best part of the day? Clearly it was seeing a self driving, Roomba like, lawnmower on parliament grounds while walking back from lunch. Highlight of the day!
